Working in the Offshore Industry

We specialise in the provision of qualified and experienced environmental personnel to work offshore on seismic surveys worldwide to ensure compliance with the regulatory guidelines. We look for people with degree level qualifications related to their discipline, or extensive experience in the environmental sector on offshore operations.

We are interested in personnel with an educational background in the Biological/Environmental sciences and proven field observation experience. Atlas Marine Mammal Observers (MMOs) must know how to liaise effectively with the maritime and seismic crew to win their confidence and co-operation, as well as to foresee potential situations where non-compliance could arise. The job of an MMO is to ensure compliance of the survey operations; this is achieved with clear and precise communication with the seismic crew and proactive project management. Strong communications skills are also required for report writing. For Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) operations, electrical/electronic skills are particularly useful. Certified training by a recognised industry regulatory body, such as the UK Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), is also required.
